BEARDEN

Bearden School District held its third annual family STEM night on Thursday, January 17 in classrooms at the high school building. Parents and students were treated to a dinner by Rub’Em Right Barbecue after which they participated in building models of hurricane-proof houses, barriers against flooding and plate tectonics; as well as watching demonstrations of blowing “Arctic Bubbles” and fire safety. At the end of the evening, everyone assembled in the gym to watch representatives of Lockheed-Martin present scientific demonstrations, a t-shirt giveaway, and a drawing for prizes ranging from gift cards to robots and televisions.
